Antonio Vivaldi’s Summer from The Four Seasons is one of the most exhilarating works in the Baroque repertoire, portraying the growing tension of oppressive heat before erupting into a violent summer storm. In Wettstreit zu viert (“Competitive Foursome”), the internationally acclaimed quartet Salut Salon reimagines this masterpiece with a unique blend of virtuosity, theatrical performance, and humor. While remaining faithful to Vivaldi’s music, the ensemble transforms the concerto into a playful musical contest where technical brilliance and stagecraft go hand in hand. Composed of four classically trained musicians, Salut Salon is renowned for breaking the boundaries of traditional chamber music through imaginative performances that combine exceptional musicianship with comedy and visual storytelling. In this interpretation, rapid exchanges, synchronized movement, and expressive interaction between the performers create the illusion of a friendly musical duel, all while preserving the intensity and precision required by Vivaldi’s score. The result is a performance that is both entertaining and artistically refined, demonstrating that classical music can embrace creativity without compromising its musical integrity. What if one of jazz’s biggest hits was built around a rhythm people were told they couldn’t dance to? 🎷🥁✨ In 1959, American jazz was largely comfortable in familiar 4/4 swing and 3/4 waltz time. Then the Dave Brubeck Quartet delivered Time Out to Columbia Records—and the executives reportedly worried that its unusual meters would make the music too difficult for mainstream listeners. They couldn't have been more wrong. The album produced “Take Five,” composed by alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, and the track became the best-selling jazz single of its time. Its defining feature was a rhythm that sounded sophisticated without ever feeling forced: an asymmetric 5/4 meter, naturally felt as ONE-two-three, ONE-two. Underneath it all, Dave Brubeck’s hypnotic piano vamp provides the repeating foundation, while drummer Joe Morello maintains the groove with a smooth, constantly moving ride-cymbal pattern. Then Desmond enters. His alto saxophone doesn't fight against the unusual meter—it floats effortlessly over it, phrasing each line with such relaxed lyricism that the complicated rhythm almost disappears. That's the brilliance of Take Five. It took an idea that sounded intellectually challenging on paper and made it feel cool, natural, and completely accessible. The rhythm was unconventional. The music was anything but difficult to love. 🎶🔥 Album: Time Out Song: Take Five Composer: Paul Desmond Performers: Dave Brubeck Quartet Meter: 5/4 Released: 1959 #DaveBrubeck #TakeFive #PaulDesmond #JazzHistory #classicalmusicvids
BoykinZ are a country-inspired sister group from Georgia made up of Kylan, Anale, Nytere, and Alona Boykin. Blending country, pop, R&B, and rich four-part harmonies, the quartet has built a reputation for energetic performances and strong family chemistry. Their catchy melody, polished vocals, and confident stage presence quickly turned the audition into one of the season's standout moments. The audience erupted into chants for a Golden Buzzer, and host Terry Crews answered by sending BoykinZ straight to the live shows. The emotional moment celebrated not only their talent but also the years of dedication the sisters had put into their music. With their unique blend of country storytelling, modern production, and powerful harmonies, BoykinZ continue to introduce a fresh sound to country music. Their unforgettable AGT audition marked a major breakthrough and showcased why they are a group to watch. Via: America Got Talent
