Conservation programs take careful planning. At around three months of age, our young quolls are microchipped and their sexes are checked. This vital information is sent to the studbook keeper, who manages the database for the species.
From here, decisions are made about which quolls will be released back into the wild and which will remain in captivity to contribute to next year’s breeding program.
This process is part of a collaborative effort with the Tasmanian Quoll Conservation Programme, working together to secure the future of quolls in the wild. #nature #tasmania #quoll #conservation #animals #wildlife #eastcoasttasmania #naturelovers
Camp Invader!
One of the most mind blowing wildlife moments of my life. I had been searching for reliable camping areas in the mountains for years and never had much luck until this day when I spotted quoll turned up and made itself at home in our camp.
While relaxing by the fire in the late afternoon this quoll just waltzed on in and made herself at home in my old truck. She hung around sniffing for food and when she couldn’t find anything disappeared into the bush.
Spotted quolls are the largest mainland carnivorous marsupials in Australia.
I don’t think many people can say they had a quoll try to steal their car 😅

Australia’s second largest carnivorous marsupial (second to the Tasmanian devil), the spot-tailed quoll or tiger quoll. The ‘Ferrari’ of the Australian bush! My personal favourite creature. Fingers crossed we breed these endangered beasties in 2025. I wouldn’t want to put my fingers into those chompers! These two certainly know how put on a great show 🙌
Tiger quolls give birth to up to 30 tiny neonate babies. The birth for a Tiger quoll is a real evolutionary race of survival of the fittest. It’s a mad dash to attach to only six of the female’s teats. The rest of the babies don’t survive, most likely eaten by the Mum.
Tiger quolls are endangered, because of loss of habitat, fox predation and indiscriminate usage of 1080 poisoning.

Meet our feisty new female Spotted-tailed Quoll. She is not at all keen to share her Wallaroo carcass with the crows. #threatenedspecies #quoll #spottedtailedquoll #protectedhabitat #tenterfieldtourism
Our keepers tried their 'hands' at the viral 'all hands in' challenge.
Check out the super heart-warming results 🥰

Did you find it? 👀
Take the rest of the day off, you did great. 😊
Spotted-tail quolls are named for their spotted tails. Who would've guessed?
They're also called "tiger quolls" and have the second strongest bite of any predatory mammal on earth (relative to their size).
SPICY QUOLL 🌶️

THEY LOOK LIKE LITTLE stuffed animals omg … like they actually look unreal, too cute to be true (unfortunately theyre classified as IUCN endangered too in Tasmania, thought to be caused by unseasonal weather events and feral cats)
📸: all the amazing quoll photos by @chamelecian and credits to @tohthetoaster for the idea to camp by roadkill for that shot 🤙🏻

Have you ever heard of a quoll?
The spotted quoll is the largest mainland carnivorous marsupial in Australia and one of the hardest animals to find!

WOW what an amazing animal - The Quoll - extinct in the wild! They are sadly prey to feral cat and fox populations that have exploded in Australia - this cool little animal has a bright future thanks to the viable population at Aussie Ark! 🙌🏻🤩😎

How’s this for ADORABLE 😍
Our spotted tail quoll joeys have started adventuring around their enclosure, under the watchful eye of their mum. If you’re lucky enough, you might ‘spot’ them building up their confidence and learning how to do life as a quoll.
