A rescued lorikeet has gone viral for showing an unusual kind of “logic.” After being freed, the bird began calling out to all the other lorikeets it knew, as if alerting its entire group that it had been saved. The behavior highlights how social and connected these birds are. Lorikeets are known to communicate actively within their flocks, and this bird’s actions showed it immediately wanted to share the news of its safety. The clip has amused and amazed viewers, serving as a reminder of how intelligent and socially aware animals can be. Even a small rescue can trigger complex communication behaviors in the animal world.

This trial isn’t just about me. It is, most importantly, about the animals abused by Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry and their right to be rescued. I didn’t want to delay their day in court. I had already waited nearly 2 years. I insisted trial should proceed as planned. I did trial prep from the hospital during the 6 days I was there. So now, despite all of my health struggles, I am currently in the middle of a several week long trial where I face years in jail for rescuing four chickens from a Perdue slaughterhouse. Their names are Poppy, Ivy, Aster, and Azalea. I got them care. We have evidence that Perdue is boiling animals alive. They have not been prosecuted. As far as I know, their crimes against animals are being allowed to continue. #PerdueTrial #RightToRescue
