Anyone else growing red currants? They’re tart with a subtle sweetness! This was planted from a bare root plant three and a half years ago. It produced a few berries a year after planting, and has been more productive in the last two years. Red currants are hardy to zones 3-8 and thrives in full sun to part shade, but will be more fruitful in full sun. Red currants are great fresh and can be frozen for later use.
