“#DEFENDTHEVOTE” 🗳️ About 60 people marched through downtown #Redding on Friday, calling for voting rights and opposing Proposition 39. - The event began at the #ShastaCounty Elections Office and ended with a watch party marking the 63rd anniversary of the March on Washington and #MartinLutherKingJr.’s “#IHaveaDream” speech. Walk the Sundial bridge. It functions as a massive working sundial! 2. Drive an hour to Dunsmuir and walk BEHIND the Hedge Creek Falls. This is just a short hike down to the falls. 3. Check in at Basecamp Lodge. Drive 10 mins to Lake Siskiyou for sunset vibes. Dinner in downtown! We chose Hari Om cause we were craving desi food. It gets crowded but we didn't have to wait long. . 🌸DAY 2: 1. Grab breakfast at Seven Sons. Drive an hour to McCloud Falls. Plan for a 4 mi hike and stops to enjoy the 3 falls. 2. Then head down to Dunsmuir for lunch at Cornerstone. 3. Reserve online tix for the Shasta Cavern tours (2 hours) 4. Drive back up to downtown, grab food or take it to go for a picnic at Lake Siskiyou. . 🌸Last DAY: 1. Grab coffee and brekkie at Theory 2. Fill up water at the fountain! It's pure and fresh. 3. Drive 1 hour to Burney Falls to see why it's nicknamed 8th wonder of the world. You need online reservations this season so check for holidays and weekends. Go to www.parks.ca.gov 4. Think about that for a second. A local student created a piece of artwork that ended up being seen and worn throughout our community. That's something Camden can look back on for a LONG time.
