🤔#What happens when tens of thousands of people all try leaving a Commanders game at once? WMATA’s new report says major upgrades would be needed at Stadium-Armory before a potential RFK stadium opens — including bigger station entrances, more escalators, and a new rapid bus line. 🚇 Metro says without improvements, post-game crowds could create major delays getting people home. Of course, not everyone would take Metro. Some fans would drive. Others would use buses, rideshares, or walk from nearby neighborhoods. But the report makes clear transportation planning is already becoming one of the biggest questions surrounding the proposed stadium. Would you take Metro to games here — or drive instead? #Commanders #WashingtonDC #NFL #metro Transportation (Photos from WMATA, AP, Washington Commanders)

Some DC neighbors are throwing a flag on the play for the RFK Stadium site plan They say the Commanders Master Plan doesn’t say who will and won’t be responsible for increased utility costs if the project goes over budget. A group of local Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners, led by Brad Howard, submitted a resolution to the city requesting explicit language be included that said that increase won’t be passed onto residential ratepayers. And a reminder that the public comment period ends tomorrow. #dc #news #commanders #nfl

Crews are currently finishing the final stages of demolition at the old RFK Stadium site as planning for the new stadium and surrounding development moves forward. During a D.C. Council oversight hearing Wednesday, Brian Hanlon, the mayor’s lead on the RFK redevelopment project, reassured lawmakers that work is progressing as planned. According to Hanlon, stormwater relocation work is expected to begin this spring. Infrastructure and design work will continue throughout the year, with construction on the stadium itself expected to start in 2027. #httc #commanders #dc #dmv
