Richard Hell interviewed on Videowave. The interviewer was extremely nervous (this was her first interview), while the interviewee was at the time...... well you know. The interviewer knew Richard as he had a brief stint in The Heartbreakers. The original interviewer was a no-show because of a liking for particular illicit substances. January 8, 1983.
(This version is overmodulated and has dropouts—a better version will be uploaded within the next 31 years). Videowave is a TV and Internet program featuring artists and music ignored by the mass media. #RichardHell #Voidoids #PunkRock #Punk

Richard Hell and the Voidoids made their debut at CBGB in New York. Hell was an innovator of punk music and fashion and was one of the first to spike his hair and wear torn, cut and drawn-on shirts, often held together with safety pins

repost • @shadyspex “Shady Spex worked real hard and have succeeded in recreating those seventies frames, but it was also funny and spooky putting on the tortoiseshells again because I didn’t fully realize CBGB had been purple. The whole world got purple and I was back on the Bowery.” - Richard Hell, NYC
