This old song from Matthew 6:33 has been stuck in my spirit. I was headed into the new year with so many goals and things I wanted to accomplish, & Holy Spirit slowed me down and brought me to this verse. I felt Him singing this song over me. Righteousness is not... -self-righteousness. It’s not about being confident in your superiority. It is humble and grounded. -perfection. It doesn’t mean always being right or never making mistakes. It’s integrous, with a willingness to admit wrongs, and commitment to being in right-standing with God. -just external behavior. It’s not just following rules or appearing good. It’s acting out of love, justice, and compassion. -legalism and religion. Legalism follows rules without heart or grace. Righteousness cares about why we do things, not just what we do. Righteousness isn’t our ability to do everything perfectly, never make a mistake, and prove ourselves worthy. It’s about coming low, admitting our weaknesses, and allowing the Lord to strengthen us and give us His righteousness in exchange for our own. It’s about right standing with God, not fixing ourselves to stand before Him.

There are many reasons #God gave us His Holy Spirit, but I feel that one of the major reasons has become the least utilized, conviction of sin and #righteousness. . . The #Bible tells us that there are those who have lost their sensitivity to the things of God and turned their hearts and minds towards sensuality. . . Let's be honest, most people would say they love #Jesus, but we're also called to live like him. I pray that this short clip makes you laugh but also consider laying down your ways and hidden motives and leaving them at the cross of Jesus, with a hunger to walk away closer to the Holy Spirit, more open to conviction, the desire to live holy as he is #holy. . . #Condemnation says you're not good enough, #conviction says you're better than that.
