I love it when a place lives up to the HYPE ⚡️ 💾 Save this for trip inspo in the future! 🇭🇷 Rovinj in Croatia is STUNNIN’ HUN and I’m actually mad that I couldn’t capture how beautiful it was using my phone. It’s one of those places you just have to go and see. THINGS I LIKED: 🚍 A 35-45 min bus goes twice a day from Pula bus station and costs €7.20 making it a really affordable place to get to - but just that touch too much effort meaning it’s not gonna be overrun 😂 🤫 In fact, in early October it was quiet but with enough people that there were plenty of food and drink places open but absolutely not need to lay down your towel at the beach at 8am ☀️ Speaking of which, we really lucked out with the weather. It was set to rain all week but we had 23 degrees of cloudy but sunny days and it was perfect. There were lots of people sunbathing! 🏨 I’ve already mentioned the hotel on my stories but Hotel Lone was really fantastic. We paid £149 a night but there are rooms for just £121 in Nov. Worth it for the free spa access and the breakfast MEGA BUFFET alone. 🏡 There’s also much cheaper accommodation - when I go away with James we like to stay cheap AND stay fancy as long as the budget allows! 🏩 Also in Rovinj is the Grand Park Hotel which if you’re a saddo like and love snooping around hotels, this one is NEXT LEVEL. It’s like a villain’s lair and James and I very much enjoyed walking in (confidently like we should be there) and just being in AWE of it. 🍽 Lots of choice and we had an incredible meal at Tone which was very worthy of its prices (they also had wine spritzers for £2.89) and also a Mexican called La Concha where we had HUGE steak salads for about £13 🍸 Drinks wise, my top tip is to have your drink on the water with the lush view but if you’re after a few bevs, leave the views behind and explore the labyrinth of streets for local bars with local prices. Our fave we found was Batel (beer and wine for £2.89) - but expect lots of smoking! 🌅 The sunsets are just… WOW. Every night was a smasher. If you only have one day in Croatia (Istria), spend it here 🤍 🌸 We packed light and let the day unfold - a couple of flat whites (and surprisingly great lemon cake) at Augusto (we usually get their fika buns!), these pretty narrow Old Town streets and the best mortadella sandwich of our lives at Twin Figs. Afternoon by the sea, followed by 2 scoops of gelato, cocktails and a sunset walk to close it out. The one thing we kept forgetting we had on? Our bag. We tested the new Superlite from Tortuga - just under a kilo - and after hours of walking, no sore shoulders, no straps digging in. Rovinj je prostě vibe, který musíš zažít. To mě řekla slečna, která žije na Istrii celý život. Benátská architektura, skvělé jídlo a moře na každém rohu. 😍 tady máš pocit, že jsi v Itálii. A měla sakra pravdu! Protože nejlepší nápad na výlet je vždy od místních. #rovinj #chorvatsko #leto #cestujeme
