Blues Traveller - Run Around (Live, 1996) “Run-Around” originally came out in 1994 on Blues Traveler’s album Four, and it ended up becoming their biggest song by far. The track won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and it pushed Four to multi-platinum status, turning the band from a touring jam group into a mainstream rock act. The song is built around the things Blues Traveler were known for: catchy songwriting mixed with jam-band musicianship. The hook is huge, the rhythm has that rolling groove, and John Popper absolutely steals the show with the harmonica. Popper’s harmonica playing was always a big part of the band’s identity, but on this song it becomes the lead instrument in a way that most rock bands never attempt. Lyrically the song is about frustration in a relationship, feeling like someone keeps talking in circles instead of being honest. Popper actually packed the lyrics with a ton of internal rhymes and wordplay, which makes the verses move really fast when he sings them. The 1996 performance at Howard Stern’s Birthday Bash is a cool one because it really shows how strong the band was live during that era. Blues Traveler built their reputation on touring and improvisation, so even when they played a big radio hit like “Run-Around,” it still felt loose and energetic instead of sounding exactly like the studio version. #bluestraveller #runaround #1994 #90s #1996 #howardstern #classic #tune

Wait for the Harmonica ❤️‍🔥 Blues Traveler’s Run-Around 🎶🔥 is one of the most infectious and instantly recognizable hits of the ‘90s. Released in 1994 on their Four album, the song became the band’s breakthrough hit, catapulting them into mainstream success. John Popper’s rapid-fire harmonica playing is the heart of the track, weaving in and out of the upbeat groove with incredible precision. His soulful, slightly raspy vocals deliver lyrics about unrequited love and frustration, all wrapped in an energetic, feel-good melody. The song’s playful bounce and tight instrumentation give it a timeless quality, making it a staple of ‘90s rock and alternative playlists. Run-Around wasn’t just a radio smash—it won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1996 and remains one of the most enduring songs of the decade. 🎤🎸 The combination of jam-band energy, bluesy harmonica, and pop-rock sensibility gave Blues Traveler a unique sound that set them apart from their grunge-heavy peers. The music video, which cleverly references The Wizard of Oz, further cemented the song’s legacy, adding a fun, theatrical element to its success. To this day, Run-Around is a nostalgic anthem that perfectly captures the carefree spirit of ‘90s rock. - - - #bluestraveler #runaround #johnpopper #harmonica #groove #90s #music #foryou #singer #incredible #musician #90srock #classicrock #jamband #feelgoodmusic #grammywinner #rockhits #alternativerock #harmonica #hitsong #bighit #song #livemusic

. . . . . . . . . . #bluestraveler #pop90s #rock90s #runaround #poprockcastle
