A valley that is accessible from Kishtwar in the Jammu region, Udaipur from Lahaul-Spiti and the 4,400-metre Sach Pass from Chamba. This part of our country is cut off for 6-7 months.
It is believed that the Raja of Chamba used to pay ‘funeral expenses’ to the officials as there was no guarantee of their return. Criminals were also sent off to Pangi as punishment because of its isolation. Although, I won’t mind such a punishment 😛
