Arlo has been my favorite dog since the day he walked into this shelter almost 8 months ago. ❤️ And I wish everyone could see the Arlo that I know. At the shelter, he’s timid with strangers — especially men. He doesn’t run up asking for affection. He doesn’t immediately show you how incredibly loving he is. And because of that, people keep passing him by. But give Arlo time to trust you and everything changes. This reunion with his former foster dad says everything. After a month apart, Arlo remembered exactly who made him feel safe. The hesitation disappeared, the play bows came out, and within minutes he was flopped over asking for belly rubs like no time had passed at all. That’s the part adopters don’t get to see during a quick shelter meeting.😭 Arlo doesn’t need someone he’ll instantly fall in love with. He needs someone willing to give him enough time to fall in love with them.
