I have been receiving comments from this trial reel because apparently the caption “plays” with fear factor about an animal that has never killed a human in the wild. And honestly, I think whoever thinks that these are cute animals that would never chose to harm humans because of the purity of their heart is as naive as it can get. These are APEX predators. The only reason we are alive when we come out of the water is because they chose to, and the reason for that is still disputed. Some say, they are smart enough to know we can be as mean as them. Others claim we are just a bag of bones which doesnt really appeal to them. Whatever the reason is, the reality is that I feel like its almost a lack of respect to claim we are “safe” while sharing the water with them. We are not talking about just big dolphins, but one of the smartest and most powerful predators that has ever existed, and just because historically people have jumped in the water and no incident has taken place, it doesnt mean that it could NEVER happen. Orcas have CULTURE, as we have. They learn, experiment, teach and pass on their own knowledge through generations. And culture, just like in our society, evolves. Who says that one act cannot change the way they interact with us forever? Why are we so arrogant to believe that nothing will never happen? With this, I dont pretend to say we should fear and avoid Orcas. Im the first person who wants to go in the water and look eye to eye to the most powerful predator on the planet, but lets maybe give them the recognition they deserve. #Ocean #Whales #Wildlife #Nature #OceanLife #MarineLife #WhaleWatching #UnderwaterPhotography #AnimalPlanet #KillerWhale #Orca #Sealife #NaturePhotography #WildlifePhotography #SaveTheOceans

🌊💥 𝐎𝐈𝐋 𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍-𝐔𝐏: Not all oil spills are the same — different oils, weather, locations, and even politics change how we respond. But generally, we’ve got 4 main ways to deal with them: 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐭 Yep, sometimes the best thing to do is… nothing. If the spill is way out at sea and not heading toward land, wind, waves, and bacteria can break it down naturally. 🌬️🌊 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐈𝐭 𝐈𝐧 & 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐭 𝐔𝐩 Booms (big floating barriers) can trap the oil and stop it from spreading. Then we use skimmers or special materials to soak it up — or even burn it off right there. 🔥🧼 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 These chemicals break the oil into tiny droplets that sink below the surface where they (hopefully) biodegrade. Sounds cool? Kinda. BUT it can hurt marine life and seafood, and the chemicals themselves can be toxic. 😬🐚 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐭 Believe it or not, some bacteria LOVE oil. We can add fertilizers or even special oil-eating microbes to help nature clean it up faster. 🧪🦠🌱 👉 Dispersants are especially controversial — they make spills look better by hiding the oil underwater, but that often just moves the damage out of sight… and deeper into the ocean. Every method has pros and cons. The goal? Minimize harm, save wildlife, and protect our oceans. 🌍💙 #OilSpill #SaveTheOceans #CleanUpCrew #EcoWarriors #MarineLifeMatters #PollutionCrisis #ClimateAction #OceanLovers #Conservation #NatureKnowsBest #OilIndustry #GreenPlanet

🚨COVER REVEAL🚨 It's a double bill! After yesterday's paperback cover reveal for (@raine_clouds_writes) Lorraine Wilson's WE ARE ALL GHOST IN THE FOREST, we're celebrating #worldwaterday today, so, feast your eyes on the gilded beauty of THE SALT ORACLE, hitting shelves this autumn! This is a standalone novel set in the same universe as WE ARE ALL GHOSTS IN THE FOREST, exploring a murder mystery on a huge floating college in a world rife with digital ghosts. Designed by Sam Gretton. Preorder now from all good bookshops! "It's been seventeen years since the internet crashed and left the world broken... On the Bellwether, a huge floating college safe from the politics and war of the mainland, Auli is part of a research team studying the Oracle - a strange, uncanny girl who channels dangerous ghosts. The scientists notate everything she says, using her to piece together maps, weather forecasts, and anything else that might make the region’s hazardous waters a little safer for shipping cartels and local fishermen alike. Auli is horrified when her beloved mentor, Boudain, reveals his scheme to create more human Oracles, seeking to leverage the power of this unique girl into security for the Bellwether and perhaps even a return to a new, warped digital age. The very next day, she finds him dead. Reluctantly promoted to lead her team, Auli begins an investigation into Boudain's death. Her scrutiny reveals the corrupt heart of the institute she has dedicated herself to, and as the ghosts and even the very seas around them start to mutate, she is forced to wrestle with a life-changing decision: save the Oracle or save the Bellwether - and all the lives that depend on it." #thesaltoracle #weareallghostsintheforest #lorrainewilson #mothersea #thelasttodrown #coverreveal #samgretton #worldwaterday #savetheseas #savetheoceans #digitalcollapse #digitalghosts #internetdown #scifi
