The Blue Grotto 📍Capri, Italy The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is a famous sea cave on the coast of Capri, Italy, known for its brilliant, electric-blue water, which is caused by sunlight entering through an underwater opening and reflecting off the sandy floor. Visitors enter in small rowboats, lying down to pass through a narrow entrance, and experience a magical, glowing blue interior that was once used as a private bath by Roman Emperor Tiberius. The best time to enter and admire the reflections at their most intense is between 12 pm and 2 pm, but this is also when lines are longest. In the afternoon, queues tend to be shorter, but sea conditions often worsen after 3 pm, which may lead to sudden closures. This magical sea cave in Cornwall has been lost forever. 🌊 The historical landmark Holywell cave, also known as St Cuthbert’s Cave located on Holywell Bay beach has been visited for years and has also been used in Tv programmes namely Poldark. The landfall happened on Sunday the 30th August and now makes the cave inaccessible according to the National Trust.
