For years, I avoided the topic of the second coming. Not because it wasn’t biblical, but because it was often misrepresented. When I finally took a deeper look, something shifted. This isn’t about fear, dates, or speculation. It’s about transformation. When properly understood, the return of Jesus doesn’t produce panic. It produces faith. It doesn’t divide. It awakens urgency. Scripture tells us every believer will respond to His return in one of two ways, with confidence or with shame. I wrote The King Is Coming not to frighten you, but to prepare you. The King is coming. 📖 The rapture and the Second Coming are NOT the same event. Different timing. Different purpose. So what happens in between? A LOT. And the Bible doesn’t skip it. From Gog & Magog to the Tribulation, from seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments to Armageddon, the return of Christ, and the Millennial Kingdom— this is the biblical timeline laid out in Scripture.

Most people think preparing for the Second Coming is about watching the news, tracking signs, or trying to predict timelines. But Jesus gave a much simpler, and deeper, answer. “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour” (Matthew 25:13). Biblical preparation isn’t about fear. It’s about relationship and loyalty. In Scripture, the final generation isn’t described as the most informed, but the most faithful: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12) That means preparation looks like: • Knowing Christ personally, not just knowing prophecy • Allowing God to transform your character • Living in daily obedience out of love, not fear • Refusing to let culture shape your worship or convictions The Second Coming will not just reveal who studied prophecy. It will reveal who truly chose Christ. Jesus isn’t coming back for people who simply knew about Him. He’s coming back for people who walked with Him. So the real question isn’t: “Do I know the signs?” It’s: Do I know Him? His instruction was to be prepared and to stay alert and busy, fully engaged with assignments and instructions—fully alert and not presumptive about how long they had to be obedient to their tasks. Well, that’s our lesson today: We don’t want to presume on the gift of time, and delay being busy with our assignments. Jesus said: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return…” (Luke 12:34-35, NIV®️).
