ESSA AQUI TOCOU EM TODOS OS LUGARES POSSÍVEIS EM 1998 “Closing Time” surgiu de um motivo bem simples: o Semisonic queria parar de encerrar os shows sempre com a mesma música. Dan Wilson se inspirou nos bares de Minneapolis, onde todo mundo ouvia o clássico grito de “hora de fechar”. Daí saiu um hino perfeito de última chamada. No meio da composição, a música ganhou um segundo sentido. Wilson percebeu que a letra também falava sobre recomeços e até sobre nascimento. Ele e a esposa estavam esperando o primeiro filho, e a ideia do bebê “ser mandado para fora” virou uma metáfora inesperada. O resultado foi um sucesso gigante: topo das paradas alternativas, indicação ao Grammy e presença constante na cultura pop, de The Office a Os Simpsons. Eai, você sabia dessa história? “Closing Time” - Lançada em 1998 no álbum Feeling Strangely Fine, foi escrita pelo vocalista Dan Wilson. Apesar de parecer apenas sobre o fim de uma noite em um bar, com a famosa ideia de que “você não precisa ir para casa, mas não pode ficar aqui”, tem um significado mais profundo, pois foi inspirada no nascimento da filha de Dan Wilson, usando o “fechamento” como metáfora para o início de uma nova fase da vida. Se tornou o maior sucesso do Semisonic, ganhou grande destaque nas rádios e na MTV, até hoje é frequentemente interpretada de forma literal, sendo tocada em bares e eventos de despedida, mesmo carregando uma mensagem sobre mudanças e recomeços. #semisonic #clássicosdorock #rockanos90 #nostalgia #rock
