SHARK HUNTER! @shark_wrestler putting two Thresher Sharks over the rails! We're on fire now baby! Can't stop WON'T STOP 🔥🦈🎣💪 Love the Australian dudes in the Background cheering me on! Haha "Shark Hunter!" Was the phrase of the day! This was part 2 of 2 Thresher shark day! One I will always remember! This decent grade Thresher came to WORK! We started on the Northwest corner and this fish took me to the opposite side of the pier! Dodging under and over all of the dozens of rods on the railing. It wanted to make one last run under the pier, but I gave it the BEANS and put the breaks on him right before he attempted to make a dash for the pilings under the pier. Luckily my good fishing amigos @socal_fisherman__ @smokethapainaway @sam_the_fisherman @thomas.leaps were there to help me wrangle this hot fish in! Vincent and Thomas always on point with the handy gaff work! Rod: 12' Penn Battalion ii Surf XH Reel: Okuma Makaira 15Tii w/ 60lb main line w/ 6 oz weight Rig: 12' - 210lb cable Float leader, w/ #tft float rig, non return and sputnik.

The bull shark, Carcharhinus leucas, does not begin life as a shark hunter. Young ones eat bony fish, same as everything else in the shallows. Then they cross a size threshold, somewhere around four feet, and the whole diet changes. Past that point they start taking other elasmobranchs, sharks and rays, prey with tough hides and hard parts that most predators cannot process. The jaw catches up with the appetite, and suddenly the fish that used to share the shallows with them becomes food. The blacktip never makes that switch. Blacktips are dietary specialists that stay on bony fish their entire lives, no shift, no upgrade. That is the difference on display here. Finding one of the rarest shark tooth species in the world! P. benedinii is believed to be a deep water shark, so their teeth are usually very difficult to find as a fossil hunter. This is also a very large size for this extinct, prehistoric species which adds to the rarity and value. However, the @palmettofossilexcursions crew discovered this massive one on their old fossil dig tour property. Want a chance to find one yourself with them? Another nice Megalodon shark tooth found scuba diving by @meghunter28 in the Shark Tooth Capital of the World: Venice, Florida. Still expecting some people to think this was somehow faked or planted even with the explanation. It’s something every shark tooth hunter experiences when a shark tooth or fossil discovery video reaches a new audience for some reason, so hopefully this explanation helps everyone understand. @bookofquint is an amazing book that I dare say takes you on wild, heart-pouding journey of perseverance & great depth and psychological trauma. If you ever wondered like I have - Where did Quint, the shark hunter come from? Why was he so certafiable? Why did he hate The Orcas radio? Why won't he put a lifejacjet on again? HOW DID HE AQUIRE THE ORCA?????? How did Amity island become the tourist destination it is? Who was Quints helper walking the Dog? What was it like surviving the @ussindianapolisofficial ? The author, Ryan Dacko, is nothing short of brilliant. My personal take away was the story of the orca, the fishing boat Quint hunts sharks with. I've always wanted to step foot on The Orca- this book gives you that. BUT THIS BOOK!!!!!
