The Silver Bay Overlook is one of the town's hidden treasures 🤩 It's one of the scenic places to explore when you spend the day in Silver Bay on Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior! ‍ The overlook has a small trail system atop a hill in Silver Bay. There are three super interesting overlook areas: ‍ 🏞 See Lake Superior with Palisade Head in the distance . 🌲 Overlook the wooded valley that contains the town of Silver Bay ⭐️ And see the Cliff Mining taconite plant from up high, with an intreperative pannel that describes the process of turning raw iron ore into taconite pellets. (Interesting! 🤓) ‍ What else is there to do in Silver Bay, you ask?! ‍ ☕️ Need a caffeine boost? Head to @timbercoffee_company for a fresh @fikacoffee to kickstart your day. Save and share this reel. ♡ Location: Caribou Falls State Wayside 7232 Highway 61 Silver Bay, MN 55614. ‘ Trail: A spur trail from the wayside, with a 1.18-mile out-and-back hike, featuring wooden stairs. Waterfall: A 35-foot waterfall with a lower section that cascades into a pool and an upper section between rocks. The road down to Borth Wen car park, #Rhoscolyn — I turned left off the A4545 at the signpost for @thewhiteeaglerhoscolyn and #SilverBay holidays. It starts off fine, but once you’re past The White Eagle, it gets very narrow and, quite honestly, a bit of a nightmare in summer — caravans, minibuses towing kayaks (at least you can see those above the hedges!), and minimal passing places. Not to mention all the pedestrians walking to the beach with prams and beach bags in tow… all only to find there’s no parking left 😁 Go early if you can — though you’ll still have to run the gauntlet on the way back! This was filmed April, around 11am a few years back. P.S. The food and views at The White Eagle are well worth a stop — definitely book ahead in peak season.
