Before moving here, I also believed that when cities grow, trees disappear. That’s just how development works… right? But living in Singapore has made me question that. You see trees everywhere. Along the most developed roads, next to MRT stations, inside neighbourhoods, around tall buildings. Sometimes it feels like the city was built around the trees, not the other way around. Even the busiest roads have shade. Even the most modern places still feel green. It makes you realise that maybe development was never supposed to mean choosing between cities and nature.
