You suddenly can’t tell the bumps in the snow properly from the skyline… and it’s quite unsettling.
What makes a huge difference is using the right goggle lens for the weather.
☀️ Bright sun → darker lens
☁️ Cloud or snowy days → lighter contrast lens
That’s why I like goggles where you can swap lenses quickly.

Paragliding over the Swiss Alps is hands down one of the most exhilarating things you can do—but a little prep goes a long way to make it even better! Here’s what you need to know before you take the leap:

✅ Book in Advance – this is a bucket-list experience, and spots fill up fast, especially in peak ski season. Lock in your flight early! We flew with FlyVerbier @flyverbier.ch @hippolyte.melo
🎿 Dress for the Slopes – You’ll be launching on skis, so wear your regular ski gear. Layers are key because it can get chilly up there!
🕶️ Sunglasses or Goggles? – gauge the weather. It was a bluebird day when we flew, so I wore my sunglasses. But I had my ski goggles on hand in case the weather changed for the worse.
📸 Capture the Moment – most guides offer GoPro footage, but check in advance. If you want your own angle, secure your camera with a wrist strap!
💨 Check the Wind Conditions – paragliding depends on the weather, so flights might be delayed or rescheduled. Be flexible and keep an eye on the forecast.
🎢 Embrace the Thrill! – keep your eyes on the horizon and run as fast as you can. Trust the process. That first step off the cliff is WILD, but it’s pure magic once you’re soaring over the Alps.
