For many families in Burundi, homes are often a single room with multiple people living inside - such cramped conditions has meant social distancing or isolating from one another is virtually impossible.⁣ ⁣ In one neighbourhood in the capital city, several children are recovering from mpox while others are suspected to be infected. Just 20 minutes away, at the Gatumba border crossing point, around 1200 people move between the DR Congo and Burundi every day.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #BBCAfrica #Mpox #Burundi #DRC
Dr. Anthony Fauci was grilled by lawmakers on Capitol Hill all about the government’s response to the Covid pandemic. This includes the origins of Covid, social distancing, and masks. Things got very contentious when Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene refused to refer to Fauci as a doctor. DBL’s @samschacher chimes in. #drfauci #anthonyfauci #covid #pandemic #covid19 #covid19pandemic #capitolhill #doctor
I present to you, ✨LOTTIE!✨aka, Charlotte La Bouff, from the Princess and the Frog! I wanted to do a big halloween look again this year, and when I asked for suggestions Lottie was just such a fun one! I love big poofy princess dresses, and I love a challenge - so my goal for this dress was to see just how big I could make it (while still keeping it wearable). And I do really love how this dress came out! It’s big, it’s poofy, and the wig @winterciphers made took this whole look to the next level! There was a ton that went into the making of this dress (and making a hoop skirt for the first time) so check out the full YouTube video if you are interested in that! One of my favorite parts about this dress is that it is made of supplies that I mostly had at home (about half of the supplies were from the social distancing dress/old hoop skirts I deconstructed). but for now, I am off to make one more halloween project this year (Jack Skellington) because I missed making big halloween costumes : D Dress by @crescentshay Wig by @winterciphers #cosplay #lottiecosplay #diy #cosplay #disneycosplay
Low fog and dogs of all kind hung around H.B. Fuller Park Saturday morning in Vancouver. It was the region’s 7th annual K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch Worldwide Championship. Handlers and spectators lined up their chairs on the outskirts of the field to cheer on each other. The international game gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic as an easy way for people to gather outdoors while social distancing. In an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya, former US Chief Medical Officer Dr Anthony Fauci says the six feet social distancing rule during the COVID-19 pandemic was based on assumption that the virus spread through droplets, which “turned out to be incorrect.” Watch the full interview on our YouTube.
Maltese singer @destinyofficial_x has opened up about her experience when she found out that she wouldn’t be able to perform All Of My Love at the 2020 Eurovision due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I loved that song and it had a deep personal meaning for me,” Destiny told TVM. “It’s my type of song and everything, and when I was told that the Eurovision was cancelled, I took it quite badly.” “We were in lockdown back then. I received the news when I was at home and I couldn’t do anything about it.” “It was very emotional but every cloud has a silver lining.” Destiny eventually represented Malta at the 2021 Eurovision, finishing 7th with Je Me Casse. She also finally got to perform All Of My Love on the big stage at the second semi-final this week. She said that competing during a pandemic, with all the social distancing rules that entailed, wasn’t easy, but she is now looking at the positives. “I learned a lot from that experience, and it thought be to be prepared for everything in life.”

We launched online 1st May 2019 and used to stand in the back of our little shop with ALL the girls packing and posting off boxes of double chocolate brownies 😭 back before Covid and social distancing🫠 just how many people could pack as many boxes of brownies in the tiny space we had 😭 I’m so glad we have some evidence of the early days but still looks like it was taken on a potato and not an iPhone and only 7 years ago 😂😂😂 will we think the same in another 7 years?! 📸 🥔 thankful for everyone along the way who squeezed into the back with us 🩷
Dr Anthony Fauci acknowledged Tuesday that lengthy school closures due to the pandemic were a mistake, given the toll they took on mental health and learning loss. “Shutting down everything immediately — and we didn’t shut it down completely — but essentially major social distancing and even schools was the right thing,” Fauci told CBS News. “How long you kept it was the problem, because there was a disparity throughout the country. If you go back and look at the YouTube, I kept on saying, ‘Close the bars, open the schools. Open the schools as quickly and as safely as you possibly can.’ But initially to close it down was correct. Keeping it for a year was not a good idea.” #fauci #schoolclosings **Mo News uses Snapstream to monitor live video feeds and channels for quick clipping. The post shares a 2020 animated short by Spanish designer Juan Delcan, originally illustrating COVID-19 social distancing through matchsticks breaking a burning chain, now repurposed as a metaphor for personal agency in halting repetitive negative patterns. Posted by musicology PhD @TheFigen_ , a creator of uplifting art and memes, the caption "Cycles change only when someone decides to behave differently" drove 36,000+ likes and 5 million views in a day, tapping into viral nostalgia for pandemic-era visuals. Replies form a motivational echo chamber, with users adding phrases like "Be the change" and "Break the loop," fostering discussions on behavioral psychology where studies, such as those in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, show self-efficacy boosts cycle-breaking success by 25-40%. This powerful animated short by Spanish designer Juan Delcan resurfaced years after COVID-19—and it hits harder than ever. Originally created in 2020 to explain social distancing using matchsticks breaking a burning chain, the animation has evolved into a universal metaphor: personal agency. One matchstick stepping back. One habit interrupted. One cycle broken. Shared by @TheFigen_, the message exploded—36K+ likes and 5M views in 24 hours—because it speaks to something timeless: 🔁 Patterns repeat until someone decides to stop playing their role. Psychology backs it up. Research in behavioral science shows self-efficacy increases success in breaking negative cycles by 25–40% when people believe their single action matters. This reel isn’t just art. It’s a reminder that change starts small—and spreads fast. Save this for the days you feel stuck. Share it with someone who needs the reminder. #BreakTheCycle #BeTheChange #VisualMetaphor #MeaningfulArt #PsychologyReels SelfGrowthJourney MindsetShift AnimationArt MinimalistArt PandemicArt ViralReels DeepReels MotivationalReels ArtWithMeaning BehaviorChange
'Streateries,' a pandemic-era solution to help restaurants accommodate social distancing will soon cost businesses money. Beginning November 30, new rules and fees for outdoor dining structures are set to take effect, and restaurant owners say the costs could be too steep to keep them in place. Restaurants hoping to keep their streateries must submit applications before Nov. 30. Click the link in our bio for the full story.
Dr. Fauci has finally confessed that he “made up” covid rules including the 6-foot social distancing mandate. DON’T EVER FORGET what they did to us.
