I see you empaths 👀 I can’t be the only one that had to learn this the hard way. Comment FAWN for my recent online session where we explore somatic ways to heal this pattern 🌀 A nervous system in constant hypervigilance is an exhausted one. Somatics changed my life. We’re kicking off a Somatic Series to help you deeply repattern this nervous system response. Make sure you’re following along @themindfulphysio_ #highlysensitivepeople #empaths #hypervigilance #fawnresponse somatichealing
Every Sunday, we come together from all over the world and move our bodies live on Zoom. We dance so emotion has somewhere to go before it turns into heaviness, shutdown, anxiety or depression. When movement happens regularly, things don’t pile up. They pass through. Comment SUNDAY and I’ll DM you the link to get your class pass. 🕘 9am Los Angeles 🕛 12pm New York 🕔 5pm London Can’t wait to see you on the virtual dance floor ❤️✊🏽 #somatics #somatichealing #somaticdance #traumahealing #somaticactivatedhealing

Here’s another one of my somatic practises I use with clients. Did you know that gentle touch can help calm your nervous system? This simple technique involves applying light pressure between the eyebrows and slowly gliding upward across the forehead while taking slow breaths. The movement isn’t about a “magic pressure point”—it’s thought to work by encouraging mindfulness, reducing muscle tension, and activating the body’s relaxation response through slow, intentional touch. When we focus on gentle physical sensations and our breathing, it can help shift our attention away from stress and signal to the brain that we’re safe. For many people, this can reduce feelings of anxiety and help them feel more grounded in the present moment. It’s a simple practice, but like many grounding techniques, its effectiveness comes from consistency and finding what works for you. 💛 This is one of many grounding exercises and isn’t a substitute for professional mental health care. #somatictherapy#somatics#nervoussystemregulation#nervoussystemreset#emotionalregulation
The body releases differently when it feels safe. I use a blend of fascia work, mobility, somatics, and nervous system practices to help the body move out of protection mode and into healing. A safe body is a healing body. #fascia #nervoussystemregulation #mobilitywork
💫let’s dive into this: . 👀your eyes play a significant role in your movement. There are lots of reasons but here is a main one: . 🧠 your mobility is directly related to how safe, or how threatened your brain perceives you to be. If your brain senses more potential threats, it is going to limit your mobility by bracing and creating muscular tension & even pain. . 🧐 so how do we lower the perceived threats?? . 👀 eye movements can play a significant role in this!!! . 🧐 so just move my eyes around?? . 🤪 it’s not that simple. Your eyes have basic skills. They are designed to do certain things. And when you practice and train your eyes at these basic skills, it often leads to your brain feeling safer and therefor your movement opens up!! . 👏 there is a bit of a learning curve— which skills does your brain like the most? At what dose? But these are all relatively simple things to figure out if you put the time into it!! . 🌀 in the video I show eye circles, it is the skill of a smooth pursuit (there are at least 16 different versions of smooth pursuit so I just showed one) . ❤️ and you can see by the improvement in my range of motion that my brain really likes this exercise!! . 👏 if you want to work through this— you will LOVE my workbook!! It teaches you how to assess/reassess and goes through ALL the cranial nerves with a video tutorial for each one. . 💫 comment ‘workbook’ (no other words or emojis) and I’ll DM you a link!! . 👇🏻 questions/ insights ??

If my brain is capable of making me feel untethered, distrustful and rushed it can also make me feel grounded, secure and calm. #trickthebody #somatics #grounded #calm
