So many smiles. So many stories. 💛📚 Last week, we had the joy of visiting A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering to share hundreds of free books with students during its Literacy Night and Book Fair — and the excitement was contagious! Families showed up. Students lit up. Five PEP board members rolled up their sleeves. Eight community volunteers, including four from Kester Search Group, joined us to help. And together, we put books directly into the hands of kids who were eager to read. ✨ This is what community looks like. We’re excited to announce one of our Book Flood recipients — and proud to share that she’s also one of our volunteers! 💙 Mrs. Saunders recently transitioned into a high-poverty special education classroom that was completely empty, aside from the few materials she was able to bring with her. Determined to create a welcoming and engaging space for her students, she began seeking out used and donated books to build a classroom library from the ground up. Thanks to the generosity of We Are Creed and parent donors, Mrs. Saunders received a flood of donated books along with several brand-new titles to help fill her shelves and ignite a love of reading in her classroom. Her students love the new additions — especially the graphic novels and popular series like “I Survived,” “Magic Tree House,” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” Seeing their excitement for reading has been incredibly rewarding. This is what community looks like — coming together to support educators and students where it’s needed most. We’re honored to support Mrs. Saunders and her students through our Book Flood initiative.

Our scholars have a love for literacy! At Beacon Hill we steward our scholars’ love for literacy in many ways. First up, we have our Level Libraries. Level libraries are our predesigned library carts that are tailored to scholars’ needs, present at our Rising Blazer campuses. This cart houses the Lakeshore Phonics Skill-Building Books that cover: short vowels, long vowels, diagraphs, and blends. Throughout the level libraries, there are Splash Games that help further engage our scholars in their learning journey. #nonprofit #bhtx #beaconhilltx #loveofliteracy #literacymatters
