My most saved recipe: EDIBLE MOSS for cakes! I love using edible moss for adding beautiful texture and color to my cakes. This microwave sponge cake is perfect for Spring or Easter themed desserts (hint hint 🌸) and comes together in minutes. Save for later and tag me if you try it out! I’d love to see it. 💚 RECIPE: Ingredients: 1 egg 30g corn syrup 12g sugar 25g flour 5g (1tsp) baking powder Gel color Steps: 1. Whisk together egg, sugar, and corn syrup in a medium-sized bowl. 2. Sift flour and baking powder into the wet ingredients. Whisk to combine. 3. Pour into a shallow microwave safe dish and microwave for 90-120 seconds. 4. Immediately turn dish upside down and let cool on a wire rack 5. Once cooled, pull out moss and it’s ready to use. Watercolour Buttercream Last week I made cupcakes for my kiddos to decorate and take to a bake sale at school, which left me with some leftover buttercream… my fav to play around with! I piped right on to my acetate sheet and applied to my cake, smoothed and chilled for an hour before removing the acetate. Then smoothed out air pockets with a heated cake comb and ta da! A fun watercolour effect buttercream! I had previously avoided trying Russian tips because I usually pipe flowers with my Swiss Meringue 😬 but was inspired to give it a go.
