Two orcas and 12 dolphins have been trapped in grim conditions at a shuttered French marine park since January. Drone footage from an activist group shows the orcas, Wikie and her son Keijo, circling aimlessly inside Marineland Antibes, which closed four months ago. #news #animals #france #orcas #marinelife

BREAKING: Transfer of Marineland Antibes’ orcas and dolphins stopped by Spanish authorities due to cited inadequate facilities at the receiving parks. This footage was taken in April 2025 above Marineland Antibes, France. Wikie and Keijo are the last 2 captive orcas in France remaining from the original pod of 4. Moana (12) died in 2023 from septicemia, Inouk (25) died just a few months later from ingesting a piece of metal. In 2021, France banned orca and dolphin captivity effective in 2026. Marineland closed doors to visitors in January 2025, and by April 15, 2025, caretakers will leave, leaving the animals without care and their future. Marineland’s tanks are crumbling and the water quality is rapidly deteriorating. While a sanctuary would be the best option for Wikie and Keijo, NONE exists right now. HOW MUCH TIME DO WIKIE AND KEIJO HAVE LEFT?

⛔️CASO MARINELAND ANTIBES⛔️ 🐋💔 EL TIEMPO SE ESTÁ ACABANDO 💔🐋 En Marineland Antibes, la orca madre Wikie y su hijo Keijo sobreviven en tanques sucios, llenos de algas y grietas, que se desmoronan a su alrededor. Estos tanques están estructuralmente comprometidos y no son seguros. 📹 Imágenes tomadas el 15 de octubre de 2025 muestran a los trabajadores intentando reparar los tanques mientras las orcas permanecen peligrosamente cerca. En menos de seis meses, los parientes más cercanos de Wikie y Keijo murieron en el mismo tanque.
