It's crazy that people are body shaming dogs now. My boxer Dolly was diagnosed with SRMA when she was a year old. She lost a lot of her muscle mass from being on long-term prednisone. She has recovered, gained her weight back and is in remission now and doing remarkable well. My 13 1/2 year old Labrador Sookie developed trigeminal neuritis a few years ago and lost her eye because of it. She is not able to exercise as much because of her health issues and her age. In the middle of a whirlwind of meds, side effects, and vet visits, we took Nora to the beach just to see a glimpse of our happy girl doing what she does best. Beach zoomies (slightly slower than usual), tail wagging, ears flapping, and for a few minutes, all felt a little more normal. ❤️❤️❤️

Carlisle protects his brother Niles from everything and everyone including mommy!!!
Niles doesn't like getting all of his medicines which right now are life saving, and who can blame him so I try to put on music, encourage him, give lots of treats but it's hard for him. Carlisle literally throws himself in front of my hand and tries to take it for him.
Carlisle is the sweetest soul. He forgives Niles for sometimes being moody with him and he defends Niles.
I am so lucky to have another set of amazing brothers.
Keep fighting for your life Baby Niles!!! You can beat this. I am living in hope that you only have SRMA and that we just need to get you through.

Mein Herz zerbricht wenn ich ihn leiden sehe. Er ist Familie und wenn ich könnte würde ich jeden Schmerz auf mich nehmen. Aktuell fühlt es sich an wie ein nie endender Albtraum. Aber ich muss stark sein. Für uns beide. Kämpfen. Für ihn. Damit er irgendwann wieder gesund sein kann. Und wir alles nachholen können, was wir die letzten Monate verpasst haben.

Das Jahr 2023…
In vielen Teilen nicht unser Jahr, wir hatten Sorgen, Kummer und Angst um unsere königliche Hoheit. Die Diagnose #SRMA hat viel verändert.
Auch sonst verlief nicht alles nach Plan, Wunsch oder Vorstellung. Doch hatte dieses Jahr auch viel schönes - neue Freundschaften und beständige Freundschaften. Wir erlebten viel Halt und Unterstützng, Zusammenhalt und Liebe ♥️
Möge unser neues Jahr etwas besser werden, das wünsch ich der kleinen Backpfeifenerna von ganzem Herzen. Gui hat uns auch ab und zu Kummer gemacht, doch er ist der Fels in der Brandung - the one in a million. Und nun ist er Papa von 9 wunderhübschen Boxern, dieser Wunsch wurde uns erfüllt - dafür sind wir sehr Dankbar.

The beginning of Spring marks 2 years now since Kane was diagnosed with steroid responsive meningitis-arteritis (SRMA). And what a roller coaster it has been. I’ve never known such low lows and high highs, but fighting for you has always been worth all the blood, sweat and tears that we have endured to keep you in our lives.
And here we are 2 years later, finally getting to watch you thrive! Getting to watch you do what you love together. Getting to watch you compete, watch you win. Getting to walk up to that first obstacle with you, and getting to hug you each time after the last.
