Once I hit 35 everything that used to work for keeping the weight down stopped working. Here’s what I found that actually works after 40. 1️⃣ Focus on protein. Upping my protein intake helped cut my cravings WAY back. I build every meal and snack around protein now. 2️⃣ Weight training. I need to build muscle. I prioritize my weight workouts over cardio. Muscle is expensive. It needs more calories when it’s resting than fat so I get to eat more! 3️⃣ Walking. It’s become a non negotiable for me to manage weight. Because it’s not intense cardio it actually lowers stress hormones rather than raising them which is key to keeping belly fat at bay. With a few basic habits you can lose weight and feel great without all the wasted effort.
