A classic beach day in Marin County — this is hands down my favorite beach in the Bay Area for all occasions 🌊 📍Stinson Beach ✨remember to leave no trace when visiting and I recommend midweek for fewer crowds!
walking through the giant redwoods alongside a gushing creek with so many waterfalls is truly magical ✨ bonus clips at the end of the sunset we caught on the drive out! winter months is definitely the best time to hike in the bay area, water level is high and everywhere is so lush 💚 📍Dipsea to Steep Ravine Loop from Stinson Beach trailhead is in Stinson Beach, there's a small parking lot right past the trailhead but there's also street parking. highly recommend to go in the direction recommended by AllTrails, otherwise you'll be going downhill on the steep & slippery section. #bayareablogger #sanfranciscolife #sfbayarea
VISITING OUR COASTAL AREA FOR THE HOLIDAY? KNOW BEFORE YOU GO, REVIEW AND SHARE THESE SAFETY TIPS: Safety Tips: 1. Swimming is strongly discouraged at Ocean Beach due to the dangerous rip currents. Wading to your knees is allowed, but please use extreme caution, as people have been swept out to sea in 3 feet of water, disappearing in seconds. 2. Rip currents are the number one risk at most beaches. If you find yourself in a rip current, remain calm; do not fight the current, swim parallel to shore and then in towards the beach. Also, even though it may be warm out on the shore, the water can be cold, which can cause hypothermia. 3. Stinson Beach is safe for swimming as it has lifeguards. 4. Keep pets on a leash and do not swim in after them if they get swept into the sea. Most dogs will get out of the water, only to watch their handler get rescued. 5. Stay off of rocks in and around the shore. 6. While boating, ensure your safety gear is in working order and that every person on board has a life jacket that fits. Carry a VHF radio, know the waters and expected weather, and file a float plan with a friend. 7. Educate yourself on rip currents, local demographics, and sneaker waves.

When we think of California, we all instantly tend to think of LA and its surrounding counties with sandy beaches, but Northern California has so much to offer! Located north of the Golden Gate near San Francisco lies a tucked away gem that looks like something straight out of a vintage postcard. This is probably the most wholesome place I’ve ever been to! Stinson Beach lies at the base of Mount Tam, a popular hiking destination and picnic spot that overlooks the San Francisco skyline. The town of Stinson Beach is tiny, with gorgeous 19th and Mid Century beach houses sprinkled throughout the hillside, surf clubs, a fish and chip shop(!!), outside board games and some of the most gorgeous flora I’ve ever seen. It’s a wonderful place to spend the day and get some good lunch too. It borders the Pacific Ocean, so the water is absolutely freezing but it’s a popular beach for surfers and sunbathers. Limited parking is available on site, however because the beach borders a very residential village, hopping in a taxi is recommended! #stinsonbeach #marincounty #northerncali #mounttamalpais @visitcalifornia #visitcalifornia
