So many of you asked what I used for Betty’s yellow NYC taxi: SJ Designs Lumiere.
It is absolutely GORGEOUS and even better in person. Some of the colors are variegated, which gives it so much dimension.
One little needlepoint tip: it can shred a bit, so I recommend running it through a little beeswax first. Totally worth it for the finished result.

Am I obsessed with these little embroidered shoes I made? Yes, yes I am. Did it take three days for my thumb to recover because I didn’t have a thimble? Also yes.
Look for thin shoes that you can stitch on. These canvas ones were only 25 cents at Dirt Cheap (see my previous reel). I also recently found cork ones from Just Fab.
