📍St Kilda, Melbourne this past weeknd. Another popular Melbourne suburb, especially for backpackers and young professionals. Very close to the city and by the water - “beach” lifestyle if that’s what you’re after. It’d been a while since I visited St kilda in the warmer months and was pleasantly surprised! The new St Kilda pier is looking incredible, awesome for a little swim. Super lively and good vibes ✌🏻 It was great seeing ppl out and about enjoying the nice weather #lifeinaustralia #melbourne #stkildabeach

ST KILDA BEACH, MELBOURNE 🇦🇺 — Melbourne From Above Today I sent the drone up over one of Melbourne’s most recognisable seaside destinations: St Kilda Beach. And from the air, you really appreciate what makes St Kilda special. It isn’t necessarily about having Australia’s most spectacular beach. It’s about having the beach, city, entertainment, restaurants, history and wildlife all packed into one neighbourhood. Just a short distance from Melbourne’s CBD, St Kilda has been Melbourne’s great seaside playground for generations. Walk along the foreshore and you’ll find the redeveloped St Kilda Pier, stretching out into Port Phillip Bay with wonderful views back towards Melbourne’s skyline. Then there’s something you wouldn’t normally expect to find so close to the centre of a major city: Little Penguins. Around 1,400 live around the St Kilda Breakwater, returning from the bay around sunset. 🐧 And only a short walk from the sand is perhaps St Kilda’s most famous landmark… 🎡 Luna Park Melbourne. Its enormous smiling entrance has welcomed generations of Melburnians since 1912 and remains one of the suburb’s great icons. Nearby you can also explore Acland Street, the St Kilda Sea Baths, Catani Gardens and the Esplanade, while St Kilda’s long association with live music continues through famous venues such as the Palais Theatre and The Espy. But today I wanted to see it differently. From above. 🚁 The beach, pier, boats, palms and Melbourne skyline beyond show why St Kilda remains one of the best places for a visitor to experience Melbourne’s relaxed bayside lifestyle. And it’s all within easy reach of the heart of the city. Since moving to Melbourne, one thing I’ve really missed is the beach. Getting the steps in. Smelling the salt in the air. Feet in the sand. Jumping in the ocean. St Kilda’s beautiful in its own way… but it’s not the same. The smell. The sand. The water. Sometimes it even smells a bit rough 😂 I’m grateful for it — but it doesn’t compare to being back up here on the coast. Cabarita Headlands today. Got a dip in. Banked a 10K run as part of training for the Gold Coast Marathon. Trying to get in the water as much as I can this weekend. There’s something about it — just brings that good energy. Always makes me laugh when people in St Kilda say, “Bro, you live at the beach.” I’m like… “Brother, this is NOT the beach” 😂 👉 Drop in the comments — where’s your favourite beach? ⸻ #beachlife #goldcoastmarathon #lifestyle
