She has often credited Strehler as the person who launched her career. “That’s when I started theater,” she said. He taught her to observe, to understand the stage, and gave her what she describes as her first artistic identity.
In 2021, Guerritore paid tribute to Strehler by reviving his 1981 production of L’anima buona di Sezuan by Brecht, directing and performing in the same staging, saying:
