Old Crow Medicine Show is an American string band and Americana group formed in 1998 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The band has been recording continuously since then and is based in Nashville, Tennessee. The founding members met in the Ithaca, New York, and Virginia areas. In 2000, while busking in Boone, North Carolina, they were discovered by Doc Watson, who invited them to perform at the MerleFest festival. This marked their professional breakthrough. In October 2000, they moved to Nashville. They made their debut at the Grand Ole Opry in January 2001 and were formally inducted as members on September 17, 2013.

1888: A brisk evening unfolds in the bustling heart of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. As you navigate through the vibrant streets, your steps synchronize with the lively chatter and laughter that fills the air. Suddenly, the sounds of a string band beckon you into a crowded tavern. They're playing a familiar tune, its fast section whipping through the air like a spirited storm. Mesmerized, you edge closer, the music's fiery tempo brightening your mood more than any tankard of ale could. You join the crowd dancing, singing, and clapping along to the beat, your heart filled with an exhilarating joy. What power there is in music🔥 Want to feel motivated while you practice? Welcome here!! :-) this Friday afternoon I am delighted to share with you my freak folk demo called “Valley Song” with the help of a special guest doll friend named Willow. :-) I have had her since I was little, so she was very happy to make her guitar performance debut here in this video. I think she did a great job. :-) lol. ANYHOW! This song hasn’t gotten a lot of comparisons to other artists yet which I think is interesting. I think it is similar to Animal Collective and The Incredible String Band in a certain way. Also my mom said she can hear a little bit of Prince and Black Country, New Road in it which I ALSO think is interesting. You’ll have to let me know what you think!! Question…. Did you collect anything as a kid or as an adult now? I will never get tired of a good doll. I have a lot here in this attic. OH I ALSO LOVE CALICO CRITTERS/SYLVANIAN FAMILIES. I have a ton in here and lots of houses. Also I love miniature stuff. My mom and I have fun doing that together and the stuff is super realistic it is amazing. Some day I’ll show you!!! Everything is connected in the Avianna world I will tell you that! WOW. Okay. Thank you for watching and being here and I will talk to you soon!!! :-) #folkmusic #freakfolk #psychedelicfolk #originalmusic #altcountrymusic
