🖐️ Is your loved one struggling to open their hand after a stroke? The Brunnstrom Approach helps facilitate movement in a spastic hand by using specific positions, weight-bearing activities, and guided movement patterns to encourage recovery. ✅ Reduce stiffness ✅ Improve hand opening ✅ Enhance functional use of the hand ✅ Promote neuroplasticity and motor relearning Recovery doesn’t happen overnight, but with consistent therapy and the right rehabilitation approach, meaningful improvements are possible. At Motive to Move Physiotherapy & Rehab Centre, we provide evidence-based stroke rehabilitation to help patients regain independence and confidence. 📍 114 Basement, Jagriti Enclave, Delhi-110092 📞 9211770511 #StrokeRehab #BrunnstromApproach #SpasticHand #trending #NeuroRehabilitation HandRehabilitation Physiotherapy NeuroPhysiotherapy StrokeSurvivor Rehabilitation DelhiPhysiotherapy MotivetoMove

✋ Hand Rehabilitation — Why Exercises Matter Hand rehab focuses on restoring strength, mobility, coordination, and fine motor control after injury, surgery, or neurological conditions like stroke. 🧠 Why hand exercises are important: • Re-activate neural pathways (neuroplasticity) • Improve grip strength and finger control • Reduce stiffness and swelling • Restore daily function (writing, eating, buttoning, typing) Progress in hand rehab is often slow but meaningful — small gains in movement lead to big improvements in independence. Consistency matters more than intensity. Great strategy for helping to facilitate hip flexion, knee flexion, and ankle dorsiflexion in a weakened leg. I use this method with my patients who are recovering from a stroke or other neurological injury that impacts their ability to lift or swing their leg while walking. So grateful to have learned this technique on a clinical rotation back in 2019, and I continue to use it frequently to this day! #physicaltherapy #dpt #neuropt #strokerehab #rehabilitation
Evidence suggests that proprioceptive input plays a significant role in the rehabilitation of stroke patients by enhancing motor function, balance, and coordination. Proprioceptive impairments are common after stroke and can hinder motor recovery, but targeted interventions have shown positive outcomes. 🗣️🗣️Please remember these are only tips and ideas. Exercises will vary based on several factors. Please use proper guidance and seek further assistance from a professional. * * #strokerecovery #strokerehab #upperextremityrehab #longislandny #shoulderpain #orthopedics
🧠 ⚖️ Vestibular rehabilitation after stroke This session focused on challenging the vestibular system through visual tracking, head movements, reduced visual input, and dynamic balance tasks. We also added weight to the affected side to increase somatosensory input, helping the brain better recognise where the body is in space and improving awareness of midline and centre of gravity. By combining vestibular and sensory challenges, we can work on balance, postural control, stability, and confidence with movement ⚖️👣 #StrokeRehab #NeuroRehab #Physiotherapy #VestibularRehab #BalanceTraining

Something @theneuroguy_dpt said recently that I love: "Stroke rehab should be HARD!” Intensity is a critical component of stroke rehabilitation. High-repetition, task-specific practice at an appropriate intensity promotes neuroplasticity and supports motor recovery, functional independence, and improved performance of meaningful activities. By progressively challenging patients’ strength, endurance, balance, coordination, and motor control, we create opportunities for the nervous system to adapt and improve! #neurorehab #strokerehab #neuroplasticity #evidencebasedpractice #intensitymatters

#strokerecovery #strokerehab
