For some people, this isn’t just sensitive skin — it’s a real condition. It’s called Polymorphous Light Eruption (PMLE) — an immune system reaction to UV light. 🔹 A few hours or days after sun exposure, your immune system goes into overdrive, causing an itchy rash, hives, or bumps. 🔹 It usually shows up on the chest, arms, or legs. 🔹 It often comes back whenever you’re in the sun, especially in spring or early summer. ⚠️ But here’s the catch: PMLE can look very similar to lupus, an autoimmune disease with completely different treatment. That’s why you shouldn’t self-diagnose. ✅ If you think you have this: ✔️ See your dermatologist ✔️ Ask for a blood test (ANA) to r/o lupus ✔️ Get a biopsy when the rash is present 🛡️ Treatment & Prevention: • Wear protective clothing •Use daily broad-spectrum SPF • Slowly ease into sun exposure • For severe cases: antihistamines, short-course steroids, or phototherapy (done in-office to desensitize your immune system — not to tan). ✨ Remember: If you’re breaking out in mysterious rashes after sun exposure, don’t brush it off. I consulted my doctor wherein I came to know it’s a sun allergy which means not just sun , it could be working in the kitchen , also screen UV RAYS , now this is something which was SHOCKING !! For me screen time is a lot so yes need to take care …. Following is a generic thing which everyone can follow to keep themselves away from such allergies …. 1. Keep yourself hydrated 2. Eat food which has lots of vitamin C 3. APPLY sunscreen every 3 hours for sure 4. Avoid exposure to sunlight a lot .. 5. Please consult your skin doctor immediately for further medications !!
