When I was 23 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 4 poorly differentiated synovial sarcoma I was given 3 months to live I underwent chemotherapy that put me in the ER after each treatment due to critically low counts and 105 degree fever I underwent an 8 hour surgery to remove my cantaloupe sized tumor, most of my left lung, and 2 ribs Leaving my left diaphragm paralyzed Why am I sharing this? Because I would need to hear this back then. I would need to know I’m not alone. I would need to know that there can be life after cancer. I would need hope, because I know what it’s like to not have it. — Don’t feel guilty for how you feel while you experience something unimaginable. It has been 4 months since you left us. 4 months ago I was able to hug and hold you. What I would give to be able to do that again!!! When we took our vows I meant every word. Through sickness and in health till death do us apart. I am happy that I was able to be by your side through it all. This is a side of marriage that is not always shown. We were both 10 toes down for each other. If the roles were reversed I know he will go above and beyond for me in the time of need. I thank God for giving me the strength to be there for every doctor’s visit, every hospitalization, every appointment. I never left your side. Take all the photos, capture all the moments because you truly don’t know when that will be all you have to look back on. the sequel is always better 🤪 natasha: back 2 black sold out at the box office. unfortunately my melanin being back does not mean my cancer is on the up and up. the melanin stealing medication stopped shrinking my big tumors so i am now on ifosfamide. but at least my color is back! up and onward!! #synovialsarcoma #sarcoma #ayacancer #melanin #backtoblack

no this is not my black friend and no i did not bleach. this is me a little over a year ago. i have gotten my melanin stolen! the culprit? my cancer and the medication it takes to kill the tumors. hopefully my melanin returns because i am tired of changing my emojis to lighter skinned ones 🫶🏾➡️🫶🏽 #synovialsarcoma #sarcomaawareness #votrient #pazopanib #stage4cancer
