Earlier today Donna and I appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about our experience of having fake porn profiles created using our names and photographs.
We only had a short time to explain what happened, but the full story will be shown this Sunday at 22:20 in the ITV documentary:
Faked: Hunting My Online Predator

1 billion social impressions. An 8% uplift in fraud reports. For Virgin Media O2's dAIsy campaign, it all started with broadcast.
When we sat down to discuss our Many Waves of Broadcasting report, Virgin Media O2's Luke Stallard outlined the ingredients for the multi-award-winning dAIsy campaign: humanity, relatability, and credibility.
â Humanity came from VM02's creativity - dAIsy may have been an AI granny, but audiences could see their own vulnerable family members in her.
â Relatability from the perfect spokesperson (Love Islander Amy Hart, herself a fraud victim) and the very real issue the campaign set out to tackle.
â Credibility was set by the broadcast moment that got the ball rolling. Over 1 billion social impressions followed, and many of those shares were amplifications of broadcast coverage.
The result: an 8% month-on-month uplift in fraud reports, and what was a reputational weakness turned into a real-world strength.

Yesterday, Donna and I spoke on Good Morning Britain about what happened to us and many others.
For years someone used our names and photographs to create fake porn profiles online. Men believed they were communicating with us. One even turned up at my home.
Tomorrow night our story airs.

We discuss why the language used to describe image-based sexual abuse matters and how terms like ârevenge pornâ or âchild pornographyâ minimise harm and shift responsibility away from perpetrators.

Too many tv shows are overly s3xualised, violent, uses strong language or even subtle normalisation of immoral behaviour.
Yeah you can pick and choose what you watch but itâs like a mine field once youâre aware.

In May 2024, a male influencer known for his confrontational livestreaming style sparked major controversy during a broadcast. The situation began when he was showing a large stack of cash and accidentally dropped several bills. A woman nearby jokingly picked up one of the notes, but the moment quickly escalated.
During the livestream, the influencer stepped toward her and struck her in response. The incident was captured on camera, and clips from the stream rapidly spread across social media platforms such as TikTok and X (formerly Twitter).
The footage prompted immediate and widespread backlash online. Many viewers condemned the violence and pointed to the influencerâs history of aggressive and provocative behavior during his streams. The incident was also compared to a previous assault case involving the same individual in 2020.
Despite the strong public outrage and calls for legal consequences, there were no confirmed reports that formal criminal charges were filed regarding the May 2024 incident. The controversy further fueled ongoing discussions about ethics, safety, and accountability within the influencer and livestreaming community.
