We went to Lake Tekapo today expecting a normal spring day… and somehow ended up watching it snow! ❄️🥹 We were just inside a shop when we looked outside and realised it was snowing — and honestly, the view was SO beautiful. 🏔️🤍 Spring in New Zealand really said, “not so fast!” 😂❄️ Just another unexpected little moment that makes me love living here. 🇳🇿✨ #newzealand #nzlife #mountains #outdoors #nztravel

There’s only one supermarket in town—a local Four Square—and as we walked up, we were completely stunned. Right behind this little grocery shop is a full, unfiltered view of Lake Tekapo and the Southern Alps looming in the background. It honestly might be the most beautiful supermarket in the world. Be honest... would you mind overpaying for milk if it came with a view like this? Yesterday’s snowfall gave Lake Tekapo a completely different look. ❄️💙 The contrast between the fresh blanket of snow, the turquoise lake, and the surrounding Southern Alps is one of the reasons winter is such a magical time to visit the Mackenzie region. It’s a reminder that no two visits to Tekapo are ever quite the same. ❄️ Winter travel tips: • Check the road conditions before you leave, especially if you’re driving through the alpine passes. • Dress in warm layers—temperatures can change quickly. • Visit early in the day for quieter viewpoints and clearer mountain views. • Allow extra travel time if snow or ice is forecast.
