Who needs a doctor? 🤷🏻♀️ When I went into labor with baby number 5, my body was on auto pilot. I didn’t even know he was coming. Kev looked under my gown and said, “I see a black head.” The nurse said firmly, “Do not push!” to which I replied, “I’m not.” Baby E decided to come then and there. No pushing required. The nurse caught him and wrapped him in a towel. She said this was her first solo delivery in 14 years as an L&D nurse. The room was quiet and peaceful. Then the doctor came rushing in with a team of residents and asked if the nurse had delivered with gloves on. She said yes and there was a collective sigh of relief.
Looking back, I am deeply grateful for the nurse who was present and took charge of the situation. Labor and delivery is unpredictable and so many things can go wrong. But perhaps the one who is most thankful and indebted to that nurse is Kev. Were there any surprises at your delivery?

no but in all seriousness, @jennahunt3 left her own kids at home and was basically our night nurse for those first two nights in the hospital with our baby girl and made our transition into being parents so much easier (and fun), and we’ll never forget that 🥹🙏💕
