Howard University’s 100th homecoming did not disappoint! I started off the weekend being on a student-led panel about entertainment journalism - (they had such great questions!) - followed by one of the happiest gatherings on The Yard of all the folks I had the pleasure of getting to know thanks to alma mater. For years I’ve been advocating for governments to make UNWRA funding conditional on a change in the school curriculum that’s taught from Gaza to Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria indoctrinating children to hate Israel and Jews. #Christians in #Gaza! For a week I have been incessantly attacked for saying in an interview that there are no #churches in Gaza, when I meant to say almost no Christians. This morning #Hamas #terrorists were seen hiding and attacking troops from an old church. We were so fortunate to be joined by unapologetic Arab Zionist Rawan Osman on #theQuad this week. Rawan, a Syrian Lebanese German, tells the story of overcoming her own cultivated hatred for Jews and how that took her down the unlikely path of advocacy against antisemitism. My Heroes Of The Week on #TheQuad: @NUFDIran and @FDD for their tremendous work in U.S. Congress this week (and always) advocating for better Iran policy. Most recently, they’ve been working to promote the Maximum Support Act which is intended to support and emboldened the Iranian people with a variety of practical solutions, while crippling sanctions hit the regime. This is exactly what the US should be doing on Iran. For far too long we’ve abandoned our own principles of human rights in the West and left millions of courageous Iranians out in the cold with no support. It’s time to change course. 🎥 @jns_org @barbieheller @danielryanspaulding @shoshanna_keats_jaskoll
