From putting on different personas to be unapologetically oneself

The way you talk to yourself, the beliefs and stories you keep on repeat, and the emotions you avoid or project are the same patterns you experience through people and situations. It’s never really about them. It’s about the relationship you’re having with yourself.

“What is a self, and how can a self come out of stuff that is as selfless as a stone or a puddle?” Hofstadter
thought about this while dealing with health stuff this week. being in a body will never stop being trippy.
it heals but sometimes it doesn’t and over time it wears and tears and eventually it just stops being alive??

Some people just don't recognize the baggage they're carrying and that can make a bumpy road.
Here are some of the things you might be carrying around. If you are (in fact) it's advisable to start by accepting and then look for someone who can help you doing the proper inner work🩵
1. Fear of Failure: Avoiding new challenges due to fear of making mistakes can hinder your progress.
2. Negative Self-Talk: Constantly criticizing yourself can erode self-confidence and motivation.
3. Need for External Approval: Relying heavily on others' opinions can prevent you from making authentic choices.
4. Perfectionism: Striving for flawlessness can lead to procrastination and burnout.
5. Scarcity Mindset: Believing there's not enough success to go around can limit your opportunities.
6. Unresolved Past Experiences: Holding onto past traumas or regrets can impede your ability to move forward.
7. Self-Imposed Pressure: Setting unrealistic expectations for yourself can lead to chronic stress and dissatisfaction.
For me it was a lot about perfectionism and fear of Failure and success, but they all at some point show up when you're ready to work with them.
Hope this helps!

“Inspired by yogic teachings”
A clear mind is your real wealth.
A peaceful mind is your true happiness.
And knowing yourself is the deepest fulfillment.
So keep coming back to calmness,
to simplicity, to self-control.
Notice when the mind gets pulled by emotions
or desires…
and gently return.
Stay steady in your practice,
in meditation, in quiet moments.
Slowly, the mind becomes still…
and in that stillness,
the Self is felt. 🌱
After class this morning, I noticed one of the
students was in tears and I went over to give her a hug
She said softly, “these are happy tears… It just feels
so good to be back on my mat and to practice
again.”
She thanked me, and I felt such a sense of relief
in that moment, knowing I was only holding space
for what was already within her…
These are the moments that stay with me✨
To witness someone opening, softening…
and to be a small part of that journey,
touches me deeply 🤍

Are we all narcissists? 👀
I was listening to a lecture on the Bhagavad Gita the other day (one of my favorite things to do while driving) and something my teacher @saundaryambika said struck me deeply.
That we are all so profoundly self-absorbed.
Even me. 😳
Self-absorption doesn’t always look like vanity.
Sometimes it looks like overthinking, overgiving, or constantly managing how we are seen.
It made me pause and truly contemplate:
» How much of my energy, my attention, is caught in the loop of “me”?
» How everything I experience seems to come back to this main character - myself.
» Even when I do something for someone else, isn’t there often a subtle whisper of “I’m so kind” echoing in the background?
Even when reflecting on a situation, my mind circles back to how it made me feel, how it impacted me, what it means about me.
The ego doesn’t always shout, sometimes it hides in virtue.
And yet, simply seeing this is a kind of liberation.
There’s power in naming it.
Not to shame it but to disarm it.
To gently loosen the grip of the “I, me, mine” and return to presence.
To service.
To soul. 🫶
And maybe that’s also why we must return to the self, not to glorify it, but to feel honestly, to notice our patterns, to trace the roots of suffering, and begin to remember:
✨I am not my thoughts.
✨I am not my roles.
✨I am not this looping narrative of “me.”
In my work as a somatic coach and yoga teacher, I guide people inward not to inflate the ego, but to listen more deeply. To feel what’s true beneath the noise. To come home to the Self that is not separate from life.💫
Just some musings from the road…Curious, do you feel this too? ❤️
