Autobot City is taking heavy damage under the relentless onslaught from the Decepticons. Perceptor passes the instructions from Ultra Magnus to Blaster. Telling Blaster to contact Optimus Prime on Moon Base 1 to send for reinforcements. Megatron orders the transmission to be stopped. Soundwave sends his cassettes, "Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Ratbat, eject. Operation: Interference." The transmission is stopped, but did Optimus Prime get the message? Optimus Prime hugs Bumblebee in the The Transformers (G1) Season 2 episode titled “Attack of the Autobots.” Megatron sneaks into the Autobot rocket base and uses a device called an “attitude exchanger” to reverse the personalities of Optimus Prime and several other Autobots, turning them evil. Bumblebee manages to avoid being converted and works desperately to restore Optimus using the last remaining attitude exchanger. Commercial for G1 Autobot and Decepticon Transformers toys. The Transformers franchise began in 1984 with the release of the Transformers toy line from Hasbro. The toy line was made up of robots that could transform into vehicles and various everyday objects. The toys themselves were mostly from the Japanese toy company Tamara’s Diaclone and Micro Change toy lines. Hasbro partnered with Takara and rebranded the toys as Transformers. The concept for the toys was that there was two warring factions of sentient alien robots. One, the heroic Autobots led by Optimus Prime, the other the evil Decepticons led by Megatron. Marvel Comics was hired to help create the new characters, names and backstory.
