5 blazers for how much?! Can you tell how excited I am about my thrift haul!?! 😄 All I wanted was a blazer and everything was $200+… and they had an oversized cut not right for me. So I went to Goodwill and thrifted 5 for $35!! I used to thrift all my clothes, then stopped when I moved to NYC. When I moved back to Wisconsin I shifted to shopping for home goods…but this thrift haul reignited the love! Which blazer is your fav? I am loving the strong shoulder! This one belonged with me, don’t you think? 😉 💖 But she was a dirty mess when I found her @sozotradingco last week! I used @dawndishwash Powerwash and @mrclean Magic Eraser and some elbow grease to cut through years of dust and grime, and then she just shined like new! I have a really special @hollandandbirch bracelet stamped “Take Heart” that has ministered to my soul more times than I can count, and I figured it needed a place of honor. Now it has its own pretty porcelain box. 💖 #alietathrifts #ceramicbox #thriftedfinds #thiftstore #thriftscore

I’ve been thrifting for over a decade. (Literally, 80% of my wardrobe comes from goodwill.) Thrifting is one thing in a toolkit of strategies that’s helped me parent as cheaply. Saving money was crucial when we were a one-income home. Yesterday I went in search of a dress for my upcoming keynote presentation. I had some random reflections: I’ve been thrifting for over a decade. Literally, 80 % of my wardrobe comes from goodwill. Thrifting is one thing in a toolkit of strategies that’s helped me parent as cheaply. Saving money was crucial when we were a one-income home. Yesterday I went in search of a dress for my upcoming keynote presentation. I had some random reflections: 👗Kids grow fast; money grows slow. Thrift to fill the gap 👗Shopping at the thrift store gave me a chance to learn what I like and see what feels autentic to me with almost no risk. 👗The thrift store is the only place random enough to clothe all this quirky. 👗I love the solo reflection of sorting through clothes. But when the kids come, it’s also a chance to show the littles how fashion has changed (I have a preference, lol.) 👗It’s a great lesson in patience for the shopper and the whole fam. I’ve had trips as short as five minutes or as long as two hours. Yesterday wasn’t a success, but next time 😉 #gentleparenting #motherhood #freeblackmotherhood #growth #parenting #moms #reels #newmotherhood #family #thiftstore #money #shopping #contentcreator
