There's an incredible resilience about Third Culture Kids (TCKs). Growing up amid so many different cultures, we are pros at adapting to change. We can navigate through unfamiliar social settings, languages, and customs like it's our second skin. TCKs have a truly global perspective, shaped by our exposure to multiple cultures and traditions throughout our highly mobile childhood. Diversity is in our DNA and we are natural bridges when bringing together different points of view. Our strength lies our ability to make new connections, fit in with new communities, and thrive especially when things are constantly changing. TCKs make truly empathic and collaborative leaders. We need more of them in the workplace! Next D&I (diversity & inclusion) pillar at your company, maybe? If you'd like to learn more about TCKs, visit nikki-muller.com for the latest research, data, stories and insights that I'm compiling, via the link in the bio. #heritage #parents #history #family #thirdculturekid #TCK #identity #adventure #creativity #successful #successjourney #growth #personalgrowth #change #focus #advocate #personaldevelopment #motivation #businesstips #mindset #goals #leadership #leaders #leadershipskills #leadershipdevelopment #leader #leadershipquotes #resilience #thirdculturekids #tcklife
So, I realised not everyone knows what a ‘third culture kid’ is! Essentially, it’s a child raised in a culture different from their parents’ home countries. In our case, I’m Irish, @travelmaddad is from New Zealand, and we’re now raising our kids in Sri Lanka. Third culture kids can face challenges with identity, often feeling like they don’t fully belong to one culture. But they’re also super adaptable and worldly! Lately, Esme and Quinn have started answering ‘where are you from?’ differently. They used to say England, but now they mention where Shaun and I are from. I’m trying to take trips back to England so they stay connected, but who knows where the twins will feel they belong as they were born in the UAE. A great example is in the video—Esmé now eats with her hands like many Sri Lankans! It’s one of those cultural quirks they pick up that might seem unusual elsewhere. As parents, we roll with it, but I do wonder if they’ll have an identity crisis down the road. Are you raising third culture kids? Or are you one yourself? I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments! — #thirdculture #thirdculturekids #expatlife #digitalnomad #irish #kiwi #srilanka #passport #familytravel
Meet the founders of Third Culture coffee. Let’s hear their story. We visit a unique coffee shop inside a police station and chat with the founders Suleman and Gambi about how Third Culture started, why they decided to open in this unconventional location, their experience working with reliable female interns, the significance of their black book for customer feedback, and their advice on patience and perseverance when building something meaningful.

Balikbayan Diaries, Day 27 “Third Culture” 🙏🏽📦🇵🇭 So many of you felt this one. Olympian Eileen Gu explains it perfectly when you grow up influenced by one culture outside your home and another inside it, those experiences don’t compete. They merge. That’s called third-culture identity. Different languages. Different foods. Different ways of communicating. You don’t lose who you are. You become layered. If this resonated, you’re not alone. #balikbayandiaries #balikbayan #thirdculture
