Fireworks are so scary for Hadley. Last holiday was very hard for my dog Hadley. He was shaking, panting, his pupils were so dilated. It was heartbreaking. I tried trazadone, I turned a sound machine on, I kept him secure and supported in an enclosed space. But the impromptu fireworks right next door in the alley were terribly frightening. And they went on for hours. Something that was never supposed to take place in our neighborhood. Hadley tried his hardest to be brave. But it simply was too much. This year, I'm prioritizing Hadley's needs and emotional wellness. My vet recommended sileo to help with the noise aversion. I also was recommended the Thunder Shirt to keep him feeling snuggled and secure. Lastly, we've been huge fans of Brown Noise in our home for every day noise aversion. Brown noise drowns everything out. We love the hatch! Fingers crossed this year goes better 🩵 #noiseaversion #fireworks #anxiousdogs #4thofjuly #dogs #dogsofinstagram #thundershirt

Yours (and my) favorite marshmallow cheeks went back to the vet today. (Of course an after hours ER visit 😬💰). I was concerned with how Daphne’s ruptured anal gland 💩 🍑 🩸 was looking and I was also concerned that she may be constipated. They did an x-ray 🩻 and thankfully she isn’t constipated. They also cleaned the area again and added a medication inside it that has a steroid in it for the inflammation. She’s not had much of an appetite or been doing much but resting, but that’s ok. It was suggested to get her a #coneofshame since the area will likely start to get itchy and such in the next couple of days. I ordered 2 that should come overnight. I’m very grateful for the excellent care we always receive from @avonlakeanimalclinic Thank you for all the love and kindness. It means a lot to me. Anyone who knows me knows that I will do anything I can to keep my fluffs healthy and feeling well.❤️‍🩹 #shihtzu #dogsbeingcute #sleepydog #analglands #onthemend #thundershirt #saddog #tireddog #doingmybest #vetappointment
