Today we are loading a roll in the Topcoflex Automat, a very uncommon twin lens reflex camera built in the 1950s by Tokyo Kogaku, the manufacturer behind the Topcon SLR cameras used by the US Navy. The Topcoflex was also sold as the Primoflex Automat and bears a striking resemblance to the Primo Jr 4x4 TLR. In fact, the Primoflex and Topcoflex are essentially “full-size” 6x6 versions of the Primo Jr. The camera earns it’s “automat” distinction with fully automatic film transport and shutter cocking after aligning the start mark. Unlike most Rolleiflex copies, it uses a crank wind rather than a knob for film advance. Topcor lenses are renowned for their quality and the optics fitted to this Topcoflex did not disappoint in our test. #topcon #topcor #topcoflex #primojr #6x6 #rolleiflex #mediumformat #twinlensreflex #tlr #120film #filmphotography #film #filmisnotdead #ishootfilm #analog #cameraporn #kodak #filmcommunity #filmcamera #analogfilm #filmisalive #shootfilm #blackandwhite #fuji #streetphotography #filmphoto #leica #grainisgood #analoguevibes

TOPCON RE SUPER RE, Auto-Topcor 58mm f1.8. These are not commissioned cameras, they are all my personal belongings. I've been working on them bit by bit in my spare time... It's really difficult!
