Scariest route I’ve ever climbed 🫣 I had no intentions of even trying it but after miraculously (toprope) flashing it whilst cleaning out the first few draws for Dave, I obviously had to come back and send it on lead. I don’t often like climbing toprope, I feel like it removes the head game component of climbing that I love so much, in this case however it was great as I would NEVER have committed to some of these moves otherwise. On my first lead go, placing the draws, it was as expected way scarier and way harder, not helped by the fact that the bolting is questionable and you have to commit to super delicate slab moves over a meter to the left of the line of draws… (no I was not off route, I’ve checked with others who have climbed it) Even so, I somehow made it past the crux moves onto easier ground and fell after I thought it was over by breaking a foothold 😭 It took another 2 attempts to get it clean and after a sideways swinging whipper on the second last go where I smashed my knee into the wall, the send go was super stressful and honestly not fun. Proud to put this one down so quickly, it’s the hardest since my shoulder injury and in a style that isn’t my strength! 🧗 “Le Chant Des Sirènes” 7c+/ 5.13a 📍 Drone wall, Huu Lung/ Lien, Vietnam 🇻🇳

Afraid of the AutoBelay and Top Rope? Here’s a guide on how to overcome fear of letting go: 1. Don’t climb all the way up yet. Simply get to a height that you feel comfortable letting go from. 2. On your next attempt, go a bit higher than your previous climb then let go from there. 3. Progression is key. Keep climbing higher and higher until you can comfortably go up to the top of the wall and let go. 4. Last but definitely not the least, trust the device, your equipment, and your belayer! We have regular maintenance checks of the devices to see if they’re functioning properly. As climbing and bouldering have inherent risks involved, we wouldn’t let you do something we ourselves wouldn’t do. Now clip in and get ready to climb higher 😄

Finally confidently stuck the hardest move on the ultra mega super pure highball slab project. The forecast said 27 and cloudy, but it was 27 and sunny, which was way to warm. Had to switch up the shoes to some fresh XS Edge. Left my fan in the car, so my skin warmed up and I sliced through my gooey flesh in three attempts. Almost repeated the move with tape on the finger, but tape makes the upper crux a bit harder since my pointer finger is still thin from a week ago. Dialed in the foot sequence extracting from the crux and learned like 5 new things. Stoked with the process currently. #climbinginspiration #boulderingvideos #rockclimb #toprope
