60cm of new snow fell after 100mm of rain yesterday. These avalanches were failing on depth hoar layer about 30cm off the ground.

Before you all jump on me again for the helmets, english saddles, I will say and explain this: we were some local ladies from Wanaka who get to help out this super cool station every year with their muster.
We are all pleasure riders, trekkers, hunters, jumpers, pretty much live doing anything with out horses. So no we are not cowgirls, but once a year we are for a couple of days, and we love it! And so do most of our horses, its not for all of them. Some horses are like holy sh*t and don’t really settle. But its a good experience anyway!
