Was doing this wrong for the last decade!! Just realized of a better fingering for this passage of the Dvorak cello concerto, sometimes such an easy change saves you tons of hours of practice!! Should have thought about it sooner since I always try not to shift with the same finger as I want to arrive with. Lip trills are your best friend! 😌✨ If your breath is feeling tense and stuck, the last thing you want to do is push more air! Whenever I notice this happening, I practice my arias and roles with lip trills. It helps me: 1️⃣ Reduce air pressure - important esp when approaching the top! 2️⃣ Double-check if I actually know the right notes 😝 3️⃣ Realize the phrase is way more manageable than it seems!
