The City Council has already given us overwhelming support: 48 out of 51 members said YES to the "RESPECT check" for paraprofessionals. But leadership is dragging their feet, scheduling the hearing on our bill at the end of December. That's not acceptable, and we’re fighting back. Shout out to the union member who made me see things this way: he said “There are engineers and there demolitionists. Some people are demolitionists and aren’t concerned with what they are tearing down. “ I will add, they aren’t concerned If it is something that people need and something that makes our lives better. They don’t care about the quality of the home they are bashing in. They don’t care who lives there, who will live there, and who will benefit from that space. They are either angry with the builder, or maybe angry that they didnt build it themselves. Learn to spot them. Learn to ignore them. #letsdothework #uft #uftny #educatorsofinstagram #healthcare
