The largest opportunity in building a social media content business today is one which takes practically no investment and has very little creator competition, thus anyone who starts here can make a killing... First, pick an underserved community... For example, content for seniors above the age of 60... In every family, seniors are now stuck to their phones even more than the millennials... because they have more time at hand... but there isn’t great content catering to their needs... Health, beauty, astrology, finance... all of them from the perspective of people who are close to retirement. Or another niche is homeschooling for kids... Children these days are only watching Cocomelon, Peppa Pig and Bluey... and parents want content that could teach their kids better, or give them tips on how to teach more complex topics to their children. 6 out of the top 10 YouTube channels the world over cater to this category, but there aren’t any from India or in regional languages. After you’ve identified one such community, you solve for how to make content if you can’t speak well or don’t want to show your face on camera... and don’t want friends, family or colleagues to know... On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we’ll be sharing more about the @DhammajarineeWitthayaSchool, a school for girls who are underserved in Thailand that offers free education, safe housing, and three meals a day. With their support, more than 90% of the students attend university. Support for Dhammajarinee from the Girls Opportunity Alliance has helped the school to expand its computer science and STEM programming, while also providing 155 laptops for the students. Some of the girls had never touched a computer before, but today they’re learning to code and dreaming of becoming game developers, programmers, and more. Science has the power to unlock a world of possibilities for girls all over the globe. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing beds for underserved children who may otherwise sleep on the floor. Volunteers can get involved in several ways, including building beds, delivering and assembling them, or hosting a bedding drive. People of all ages are welcome to volunteer; however, children 12 and under must be supervised by a guardian at all times. No prior experience is required, as all tools and personal protective equipment such as gloves and goggles are provided. Volunteers also receive an on-site tutorial on how to safely use power tools like sanders, drills, and saws. There are multiple chapters throughout the greater Houston area and across the United States where you can sign up to volunteer. To get involved, visit the link in the organization’s bio and find the chapter closest to you. The chapter I volunteered with was the TX–Houston Central West Chapter located in Richmond, Texas. I recommend signing up early, as volunteer spots tend to fill up quickly. Overall, this is a meaningful way to give back to the community. Enough is ENOUGH. Billions of taxpayer dollars are being siphoned through Medi-Cal, Medicare, childcare programs, hospice, homelessness services, and elderly care and the people who ACTUALLY need help are still suffering. Let that sink in. The disabled still wait. Seniors are neglected. Families are drowning. Kids are underserved. The homeless crisis gets worse every year. Yet somehow, the money is “gone.” This isn’t incompetence anymore. It’s egregious fraud, systemic abuse, and deliberate mismanagement. Middle-class taxpayers are crushed. Small businesses are bled dry. Working people are told to “pay more” while corrupt contractors, fake providers, shell nonprofits, and bloated administrative pipelines get rich off programs meant to protect the most vulnerable. That money does not belong to politicians. It does not belong to grifters. It does not belong to broken bureaucracies. It belongs to the public. Taxpayers deserve full audits, clawbacks, prosecutions, and transparency. Stolen funds should be returned. Fraud should be punished. And programs should be rebuilt to actually serve people not bankroll corruption. If you’re angry, you should be. If you’re tired, you’re not alone. If you think this is “normal,” it absolutely is not. This isn’t left vs right. This is the public vs a corrupt system. In honor of Black History Month, we’re announcing a new partnership with HBCUs Outside, a program providing students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with leadership training in the outdoors. We both have scarcity trauma, we were both @thentaa Trio Upward Bound students, and we are Black Women who established nonprofits to help underserved youth. But the reason she is one of my muses is because she uses creativity to heal herself and to heal others.
